Our work :: Designing a clamp on spec
The brief
We tasked ourselves with a proactive brief to design a device which would firmly secure a cast iron workpiece during a milling process. We started from the very beginning, deciding on everything from the design to the materials to be used, and every aspect of the development process.
The result
Using SolidWorks, we developed a clamping device with quick release functionality, building in self-locking features and a stopper to secure against 'twisting' (unwanted rotation). We also created CAD renderings to illustrate the prototype in full detail. We're very proud that all our thinking and hard-work resulted in such a great product.
